Clinical Description

An illness of infants, characterized by constipation, poor feeding, and "failure to thrive" that may be followed by progressive weakness, impaired respiration, and death.

  • Detection of botulinal toxin in stool, OR
  • Isolation of Clostridium botulinum from stool
